Mabuhay Pilipinas : Maynila #2

March 28, 2015

Assalamualaikum and good morning people!

Haih cemana nak start tah haha.

Okay, before that nak rewind jap benda nak kena aware and things that I noticed kat terminal bas.

  • There's no such thing as kaunter tiket kat sini. Semua beli on board.

  • Filipino are super super helpful and nice. They will try to help you until you dapat bas or anything yang hampa tanya BUT after that "ma'am please?" while reach out his hand kat kita.

  • Never ACCEPT those people yang offer their help macam tolong angkat bag sebab right after you duduk ja kat seat depa mintak tips. Better angkat ja barang hampa sendiri. Bukan tak kesian wei tapi it's up to you. Takut kalau hampa pi kena hat kaki con baru ajaq pala!

  • Beggars kat Philippines ni somehow 'baik' sebab kalau depa sua mintak sedekah then kita cakap sorry or no depa akan blah terus. Tak paksa and mengekoq macam kat Indo. Tapi dulu kat Uzbek epic jugak beggar dia.

So my dad put his backpack atas kotak tu. Soon after that ada penjual ni nak ambik kotak tu. Abah nampak so dia ambik la bag dia then penjual tu removed semua drinks dalam kotak tu pastu suruh abah letak balik bag dia kat kotak tu. Lepas tu, dia dahaga pulak so he asked la penjual tu mineral water tu satu botol berapa. It was 30-40 pesos kot then abah bagi kat dia 100 pastu dia cakap tak dak change. Abah aku pon korek la poket semua cari duit kecik lagi. Nak guna coins tapi coins tu nak simpan. At last, penjual tu cakap "It's okay sir. Give me how much you have''. My dad gave him dalam 10 pesos and he said okay pastu senyum dan blah. 10 pesos tu tak sampai RM 1 pon wei. :'))))))))) FAITH IN HUMANITY : RESTORED

Alright. Semua pictures in my previous post memang tak snap letak mata kat eyepiece (DSLR) and pakai rembat snap memang tak tengok langsung so result dia turned out ada yang OK and ada yang K O.

Driver tricycle tu memang tau hotel tu kat mana anyway and dia tunggu lama kot sampai kami naik. Standard fare tricycle : 200 pesos/RM 16-17. Rugi kalau naik sorang tapi kalau nak try, go on.

Check in and I was at my 'peak' of bengang sebab waste setengah hari dah la nak cover banyak tempat jugak kat situ. Furthermore, sundown awai so...... tambah lagi bengang. Serious la uollssss, if we happen to travel sama-sama please please please please and PLEASE, BE QUICK and punctual. Slow memang aku tinggai. NO MERCY. Tak suka la lembab-lembab. Kalau kita stay lama takpa ni esok nak balik dengan banyak tempat nak cover dok slow-slow apa tah.

I told them 15 minutes ja nak solat then terus keluaq. Also we had to leave my dad's colleague cus he said he was tired and we couldn't wait for him so we proceeded our plan to cover Rizal Park and Intramuros. WE WALKED FROM THE HOTEL SAMPAI SANA. Almost 2 KM jalan dengan ihsan Google maps. I was the leader lol and we found halal restaurant namely ASSAD CAFE. Thought jauh dari hotel sebab nampak waktu otw pi hotel tapi turned out dekat ja.

We ordered Nasi Briyani (it was okay), naan (no gravy was provided LOL and aku dip vege curry abah and it turned out nice!), vegetable curry and mango shake. IF YOU ARE EVER IN THE PHILIPPINES, DO TRY THEIR MANGO SHAKE. MARVELLOUS GILA.

Naan kat sini kecik. Besaq roti canai ja.
Assad Cafe : recommendable kalau lapaq nasi.

After makan, we continued our journey to Rizal Park.

IPG?

After a few blocks, we finally managed to get there.

Rizal Park also known as Luneta Park is a really really huge park. It consists of Lapu-lapu Monument, Japanese Garden, Rizal Monument, Manila Orchidarium, National Library of the Philippines, Department of Tourism Building and Museum of the Filipino People.

Lapu-lapu Monument.
He was a ruler of Mactan, known as the first native to have resisted Spanish colonisation and also responsible for the death of Ferdinand Magellan (Portuguese explorer, first embassy to Malacca). Well basically, he was the FIRST Filipino hero.

Filipino-Korean Soldier Monument.

Japanese Garden.

The Execution Place of Jose Rizal.

I saw tons of Japanese and Korean here. After that dah sundownnnnnn. It was frustrating sebab we should be at Manila Bay to witness fireworks! Then there was a bus like celebrity-tour-bus tapi bus tu ada live radio and live band and memang nampak la inside bas tu. I took a picture of it and blur gila -,-

Ada kereta kuda kat sini depa dok suruh naik nanti bawak pi Manila Bay and Intramuros. Saja la bargain and he gave us 50 pesos for two carriage. Come to think of it 50 pesos for two, was really cheap la. RM 4 kot!

Did we hop onto it? Yeap we did.

Blur picture turned out artistic (ehem dak-dak art here! lol)

First they took us to Manila Bay and we had to pass by USA embassy. No pictures were allowed and the embassy building was really huge!

Only after that, we headed to Intramuros. I was wondering if Fort Santiago was still open for visit though. I don't really remember where we went first at Intramuros cus I wasn't really concentrating.

Spanish residence.

Then, we went to San Augustine Church, Manila Cathedral and lastly Fort Santiago.

Obviously Fort Santiago was closed. It was 1930 after all and we stopped there for a while.

We talked about the actual price sebab LOGIK KA RM 4 for two carriage with that distance. Trust me, jauh la jugak.

10 minutes later we started moving to Mall of Asia TAPI tak sampai sana lagi both carriage stop and suddenly mintak payment. Oh anyway, my dad duduk dengan tauke kereta kat carriage satu lagi tu.

Rupa-rupanya, our instinct was right. It was 50 hundred pesos. That meant 5000 gawddamned pesos/ RM 400. PALA HOTAK HAMPA AIH 400. We told him we only had 2000 pesos lagipon esok dah nak balik. Then dia suruh bayaq guna ringgit pala otak dia RM 5000.

MY AUNT HAD TO HIDE 1000 pesos that she had. My dad cakap kat dia that he didn't have any pesos left and pesos yang ada pon ada kat my aunt ja. RM 400 tak logik langsung and tak patut.

My dad buat buat blur, klutz, pening lol serious weh drama tepi jalan kot hahah tak guna sungguh. We paid him Peso 1500 + RM 50 and suruh dia hantaq pi MOA terus.

Sampai kat celah jalan mana tah abah suruh berhenti and kami turun. Dah turun tu pandai pulak letak kami kat tah kat mana-mana pastu blah. Luckily ada one hotel kat situ then tanya guard dia cemana nakpi MOA and nama tempat.

It was Ermita. Sewel sat kat situ pastu tahan taxi ja lah where we met our saviour! SAVIOUR?! Next post aku cerita awat sampai saviour hahaha.

*Moral of the story : PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MAKE SURE AND FIXED harga. Tanya dulu thousand ka apa ka. Kalau dia cakap 50, tunjuk kat dia 50 pesos, alright?*

He sent us to MOA then bagi tips how to get taxi nak balik nanti. Green plate is better than yellow and snap plate kereta so that nanti boleh report if something happened.

Forever 21 dengan Uniqlo besaq gilaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa haha. Pusing mall ni sampai kedai tutup la. Sampai Kultura, Kultura tutup bddhgxbgrxxxxxthhhhhttttttf creysss. Kultura ni souvenir shop. Mostly kat any SM Mall semua ada. Menyesai gila pi pusing concept store. Kalau dak boleh shopping kat Kultura padahai first intention memang nak pi Kultura pon.

Just so you know, SM MALL OF ASIA IS THE BIGGEST MALL IN ASIA and 6th biggest in the world.

Tengah-tengah mall ada auditorium. Hang rasa?

Then, we found this ice hockey rink.
Rare teroxxxxx mall kat Philippines ka normal ja benda ni kat mall mana-mana tapi aku yang tak tau?

Then, we went back to the hotel. Drained gila that I slept in the taxi. Alright long day tomorrow!
