Cu Chi Tunnel & HCM Vicinity

October 15, 2017

and here we go again, for our 3rd day, we had our hostel arranged for us another tour to Cu Chi Tunnel. So, what's the fuss about it?

The Củ Chi tunnels were the location of several military campaigns during the Vietnam War, and were the Viet Cong's base of operations for the Tết Offensive in 1968.
The tunnels were used by Viet Cong soldiers as hiding spots during combat, as well as serving as communication and supply routes, hospitals, food and weapon caches and living quarters for numerous North Vietnamese fighters. The tunnel systems were of great importance to the Viet Cong in their resistance to American forces, and helped to counter the growing American military effort.

Well, that was a snippet of it. So, it was USD 6 for a half day trip.

Along the way there, they stopped by at this craft place where the craft products are made by the handicapped people (victims of Vietnam War). Also a stop for you to visit toilets.

Not long after that, we arrived at the actual place. Not gonna bore you with pictures anyway so I decide to let you go there and feel them yourself.

and here's me going into the tunnel

After visiting Cu Chi Tunnel, we went back to Ho Chi Minh city. Since, we still have some times, we went to War Remnants Museum. We actually walked there and saw this marching band haha

As for the entrance fee for the museum, it cost about VND 15,000. I did take some pictures anyway but again, not gonna bore you 🤣

must be fun to shoot someone that annoys the hell out of us

interesting right

We then went out as the museum was closing. We didn't really bother to take a taxi or anything so we just walked and walked until we reached Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica and we paid a visit to Saigon Central Post.

"what is so special about this huh" I bet that you'd be asking this question haha
To answer your question, I shall let this be answered in my next travel post

So anyways, we got lost walking back to our place. Funny thing was, I actually stopped a China Chinese asking directions because I thought she was local! 🤣🤣🤣 But, she really did try helping us which was so sweet of her!

The next morning, we're just getting ready to fly back home.

dad did find local Vietnamese mulberry which was really cool

This is the last part for my Vietnam adventure and I'm really sorry if this particular post bores you to death. But, I have a reason why my post is like this ahah. So, stay tuned!
